Frisky Business began in 2015 from a bedroom in a Woodlands flat. At that stage of my life, physical limitations meant conventional employment was unlikely to be sustainable long term. Building something independent felt like the more practical path forward — something I could shape steadily and manage with discipline.
With a $1,000 insurance payout as starting capital, I allocated $300 to purchase an initial batch of about 10 products. There was no elaborate launch plan and no formal background in retail — only a small inventory and a commitment to learn through hands-on experience. In the early days, every order mattered. I handled sourcing, packing, customer service, and deliveries personally.
